We follow a traditional lunch menu with Offer Versus Serve.  Students are offered the following meal components daily:

1 serving of meat or meat alternate, 1 serving of fruit, 1 serving of vegetables, 1 serving of grain, 1 serving of milk – 8 ounces

In order to qualify as a meal, a student must take 1 serving of a fruit or vegetable, and 2 of the other components.  A la carte prices will be charged for separate or additional items.

 

MEAL CHARGING PROCEDURES FOR ALL GRADE LEVELS

Elementary School, Middle School, and High School – No student will be refused a meal, regardless of their cafeteria account balance.  No a la carte items may be purchased or charged when a student has a negative balance.

Elementary School:  If a student asks a Food Service employee questions regarding their account balance, the employee may comply with the request.  Employees are not allowed to give a student their account balance without being asked by the student.  Prepayment envelopes are available for parents in the Elementary School Main Office.

Middle School:  If a student asks a Food Service employee questions regarding their account balance, or requests a prepayment envelope, the employee may comply with the request.  Employees are not allowed to give a student their account balance or give them an envelope without being asked by the student.

High School:  If a student asks a Food Service employee questions regarding their account balance, or requests a prepayment envelope, the employee may comply with the request.  At the High School level only, Food Service employees may give students their account balances and give students prepayment envelopes without being asked by the student.

 

METHODS OF PAYMENT

The District will operate all cashier functions under a computerized Point of Sale System.  All students will have individual cafeteria accounts with an identification number.

PARENTS/GUARDIANS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ENSURING FUNDS ARE AVAILABLE IN THEIR STUDENT’S CAFETERIA ACCOUNT.  Parents/Guardians are strongly encouraged to to sign up for free at www.myschoolbucks.com to view their child’s lunch account balance and purchase history, and receive email alerts when account balances are low.

Payment can be made by cash or check turned in at the Main Office or given to the cashier.  Please make checks payable to Oley Valley School District Lunch Fund, and include your child’s name and Student ID in the memo portion of the check, or on the outside of the envelope with cash.  Payment can also be made online at www.myschoolbucks.com.  PLEASE ALLOW 3 DAYS FOR THE ONLINE TRANSACTION TO POST.  Please note: There is a fee of $2.49 per online payment.
