Welcome to the 2010-2011 school year! We have been preparing for your children to have a safe, successful and happy experience.
Our theme for the 2010-2011 school year is:
A child’s life is like a
piece of paper on which
every passerby leaves a mark.

We are preparing for Kindergarten Open House. It will take place on August 17, 2010. Mrs. Hummel and Mrs. Rothenberger’s AM classes will meet at 9:00 AM and their PM classes will meet at 10:30 AM. Mrs. Wert and Mrs. McNeely’s full day classes will meet at 12:30 PM. First and second grade Open House will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2010. Third, fourth and fifth grade Open House will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2010. We are all preparing to welcome our school families to a new school year.
Congratulations to our staff and students. We achieved Adequate Yearly Progress in all areas of our PSSA scores. We have received a grant for $7,500 that will support our initiative of a No Bully School. Our team members have participated in training and, in turn, will be training all staff members.
Summer programming for students was very successful. We will continue to support any student who struggles with a certain skill through our Response to Intervention and Instruction program.
We will also have our after school enrichment clubs. If anyone is interested in designing, developing and conducting a club please contact Mrs. Simyak. This will require any presenter to have their criminal clearances and child abuse clearance.
Attention all fathers! Please join our Watch D.O.G.S. organization. We need our dads! This is a great way to volunteer your time.
Our newsletters will be available on our web site. August 30th is arriving quickly. Enjoy these summer days of August with your friends and families.
Be safe! We are waiting for you!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Sheila G. Simyak
