2016-2017 School Year
In October of 2016 we had the opportunity to attend the FFA National Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana. We visited Ohio State University on the drive there, and while there we visited the Indianapolis Speedway, the Indianapolis Zoo, the Convention Center, the first general session, and saw a hypnotist perform.
Each year in the fall, two Pennsylvania FFA officers visit our school and do activities with students in the classroom, giving members an opportunity to meet and speak with some of our state officers.
For this year’s field trip, we toured Klein Farms Dairy and Creamery, giving us the opportunity to learn more about small niche dairy farms and cheese production. For lunch, we visited the Easton farmer’s market, and then we toured the Ocean Spray factory.
Our Annual Parent-Member Banquet is the time that we recognize students for their achievements, honor and thank those that help make our chapter so successful, and share what we do as FFA with parents. Here are some photos from our 2017 banquet!
This year, FFA members had the opportunity to participate in AG Literacy Week, and read a book about farming to kindergarten, first, and second graders. Students then completed different activities related to the book and food production.
On June 13-15th, 31 of our FFA members travelled to Penn State University to compete in the FFA State Convention. Here, the students were given the opportunity to showcase their hard work and talent in many different contests. In Milk Quality and Products, Vinny Ferrizzi placed 1st individually.
