The majority of our students practice appropriate
behavior. These guidelines in the Code of Conduct have been
prepared for those students who have chosen not to behave properly.
An effective instructional program requires wholesome and orderly
school environment. These rules have been established to create
a setting where all students can take advantage of the opportunity
to learn. These rules also apply to school sponsored activities.
Discipline may take many forms and may involve formal and informal
sanctions. It may include adjustments within the school setting (assignment
to a designated classroom) or separation from school. It is
important that the disciplinary response is appropriate to the
infraction and that it is designed to eliminate any disruption
within the school. It is also designed to address any personal problem.
Students who are serving a suspension or
afternoon detention will not participate in co-curricular
or extra-curricular activities. They will leave school property
at the end of the school day or immediately following the
assigned detention.
In order to assure a safe
and secure learning environment for the students and staff,
the administration reserves the right to adapt and revise the
disciplinary code as necessary depending on the circumstance.
Each case is judged individually. (All Discipline Categories
can be found in the Student Handbook.)
