What
is the PASS Team?
The Oley Valley Middle School PASS Team serves as a
resource for the individual student to remove barriers
to learning and promote success for every student.
Team members include teachers, counselors, nurses,
administrators, and consultants from Reading Hospital
Center for Mental Health and Caron Foundation. Team
members have received training to assist students who
are experiencing difficulties. The PASS Team is not
a treatment team nor is it used for discipline.
How does the PASS Team work?
PASS provides a system for reporting early signs of a student at risk. The
teams gather and review information, solicit parent/guardian support
and involvement, and make appropriate referrals. In addition, the PASS
Teams coordinate student support groups that are available to all students. Who
utilizes the PASS team?
The PASS Team receives referrals from administrators, faculty and staff,
parents, and students. Referrals can also be initiated by school policy violations.
Most referrals are made because of observed changes in student behavior or
performance.
How can you help?
