NCAA GUIDELINES


During senior year students may apply to become NCAA qualifiers. Students who are not qualifiers will not be eligible to compete in Division I and II athletics at the college level. Students become qualifiers by taking the combination of courses listed below (Please note that all courses must be approved NCAA courses. All Oley Valley approved NCAA courses are listed on the next page.) In addition students must meet the established Grade Point Average and ACT/SAT criteria (listed below):

Division I - 4 years of English
  2 years of Math (at the level of Algebra I or above)
  2 years of Natural or Physical Science (including one lab)
  1 year of additional courses in English, Math or Science
  2 years of Social Science
  2 years of additional academic courses in foreign language, computer science or any of the above areas
   
Minimum qualifying GPA of 2.0 with 1010 SAT or 86 ACT scores (SAT and ACT score requirements go down as GPA goes up, for example a 2.5 GPA needs an 820 SAT or 68 ACT)

Division II - 3 years of English
  2 years of Mathematics
  2 years of Natural or Physical Science (including one lab)
  2 year of additional courses in English, Math or Science
  2 years of Social Science
  2 years of additional academic courses
   
Minimum qualifying GPA of 2.0 with 820 SAT or 68 ACT
