Oley Valley Community Education Foundation
Programs and Scholarship
 Community Events
In past years, the Foundation held its Foundation Festival to raise awareness of the mission of the Foundation and recognize talent throughout the Oley Valley.  We are currently exploring new opportunities for community events.

§ Computer Classes
Each fall and spring the OVCEF funds computer literacy classes such as Word, Excel, Access, etc. for residents, staff, and alumni of the Oley Valley.  Instruction is free with attendees paying a small fee for the text.

§ Teacher Grants
In January, teachers submit ideas for learning opportunities beyond the core curriculum and the Foundation awards a grant enabling teachers to implement new ideas in the classrooms.

§ In Service Education
The Foundation sponsors an agricultural education day each year for teachers to experience life in the Oley Valley and become aware of the environment in which they are teaching.

§ Alumni Database
A special committee has been established to research class lists of Alumni since the formation of the Oley Valley School District.  This committee is seeking to establish a list of fifty percent of graduates in order to contract with a company who will then research the remaining Alumni and publish a book available for purchase by Alumni.

§ Senior Project Awards
Each spring the Foundation awards a $100 savings bond to a senior whose project is unique and innovative.

§ Scholarship
Two Oley Valley School District seniors who exhibit qualities that symbolize the heart and spirit of the Oley Valley Community are chosen each year to receive a $2500 scholarship through an application, essay, and interview process.

§ Senior Banquet
The OVCEF sponsors the Senior Banquet to recognize outstanding seniors in our community.
