Pass / Peer Mediation
Peer Mediation is a process that assists
students to resolve conflicts and disputes with the assistance
of a trained student mediator. Peer Mediation is a voluntary
activity. When mediation is requested student mediators guide
disputing students through a non-judgmental conflict resolution
process with the goal of resolving the conflict constructively.
Peer
Mediation is not a process to determine guilt or innocence.
It is not a disciplinary procedure, but instead assists
students in finding an appropriate resolution to a situation
before it escalates. Peer mediation may be suggested after
disciplinary action to assist in circumventing future problems.
Parents
and students who are interested in learning more about
peer mediation or accessing peer mediation services should
contact Mrs. Hunsberger or Mr.Overberger in the High School
Guidance Office.
